I am considering putting this pair of Bartlett Bleeding Heart doves up for sale.
They are an extremely nice well bonded pair of birds. I have had them for 5-6 years. They lay fertile eggs right and left but they NEVER sit full term so obviously I am not accomplishing anything with them. I loaned them to a friend for 2 years thinking he might be able to turn things around but that did not happen, they rarely laid any eggs during the time he kept them.
I brought them back to my place and immediately they laid an egg and have every month since I have had them.
In the photos I took this afternoon you can see the male courting and displaying to the female.
Several years ago I had a similar pair and sold them to Dave Rabo in California, he placed them in a large planted aviary and within a months time they nested and sat full term and raised a baby, [SOMETHING THEY NEVER DID FOR ME]
